Just over two decades ago, Xavier men’s basketball captivated Musketeers fans everywhere, embarking on a late-season and postseason push, known simply as “The Run.” Lionel Chalmers, Anthony Myles, and Romain Sato stepped up as team leaders after David West’s departure, and, paired with Dedrick Finn’s lights-out shooting, Xavier won 16 of its final 18 games after a slow start. Thad Matta’s team made its first-ever Elite Eight appearance, and ended the season just a score away from the Final Four.
