IU won the 2001-02 Big Ten conference regular season title along with Illinois; it was the Hoosiers’ 20th Big Ten title to that point. After a second-round exit in the Big Ten Tournament, the Hoosiers made a surprise deep run through the NCAA Tournament, taking down one-seed Duke and two-seed Oklahoma in the process. (Famously, the season ended immediately after that, and no one knows what happened in the National Championship game. We wouldn’t look it up if we were you.)
