When Wally Butts was named head football coach in 1939, he changed the uniform by adding silver-colored pants to the bright red jersey already in use. The "silver britches" became very popular, and were a source of multiple fan chants and sign references over the years, the most well-known being "Go, You Silver Britches." When he was hired in 1964, coach Vince Dooley changed Georgia's uniform to incorporate white pants, but reinstated the silver pants prior to Georgia's 1980 National Championship season, forever cementing their legacy in team history.

Old school comfort

I love this shirt. It is nearly impossible to wear it without hearing Larry Munson’s voice urging him the dawgs to hunker down. It fits me perfectly and the texture is so soft that this shirt has become one of my instant favorites.

I love this shirt.

This shirt is, as per usual for Homefield gear, comfy as heck and looks awesome. It's got the word 'britches' on it which definitely figured into my purchase. The newer lines of tees, like this one, seem to fit a bit larger or roomier than the Old School lines which is just fine with me. And have the cool Homefield emblem on the sleeve. Gray goes with most anything, Homefield is good at everything. Get this shirt.
