While Purdue Pete may be the athletic mascot, the official university mascot is the Boilermaker Special. Built on a truck chassis, it’s outfitted to look like a Victorian locomotive that Purdue’s engineers researched. For this two-tone dad hat, we went with one of the most recognizable versions of the Boilermaker Special logo used from 1996 to 2012; the logo was in use when the women’s basketball team won its 1999 national championship.

Purdue Boilermaker Retro Hat

I love the design and look of this hat! I wanted something different to give to my son for Christmas and this is a really nice style! Good combination of colors and design, really nice quality! Very happy with this purchase!

Centered But Off

My son loves this hat, but.....I noticed it and didn't say anything to him until he said something to me. The train logo is centered if you're measuring from each of the farthest ends. However, the way the centered logo is laid on the hat makes it look off. Everyone in our family thinks the point of the train logo should be in the center. Overall, great hat....just wish the logo placement was better.
