Back in Wichita State’s days as Fairmount College, students had a quintessentially Kansas side hustle to earn money: wheat harvesting, also known as shocking. Given the school’s football field (made of wheat stubs) and the Pep Club’s nickname, the “Wheaties,” it only made sense that football team manager RJ Kirk began calling the athletic teams the Wheatshockers. This WSU mark, which debuted in 1980, is a more subtle nod to the Shockers, decorating a curly script with simple stalks of wheat. A refreshed version of this logo is still in use today.
Our unisex tees run true to size. If you're looking for a roomier fit, we suggest sizing up!
