Nine decades after Drexel women’s basketball began intercollegiate play, the Dragons won their first national title in 2013, winning that season’s National Invitation Tournament. Drexel won its region with wins against Iona, Harvard, Bowling Green, and Auburn; the team then defeated Florida and Utah to secure the title. In addition to the national accolades, Hollie Mershon and Taylor Wootton were honored as 2013 All-Tournament Team players.
