In Rick Pitino's second year as the head coach of Providence men's basketball, the Friars went from a sub-.500 record in the Big East all the way to the 1987 Final Four. Providence made a Cinderella run that season, defeating conference rivals and 1-seed Georgetown along the way. This retro bomber jacket pays tribute to the 1987 team and its place in Providence hoops history.

Solid jacket, but a little expensive for the weight

Good jacket overall--but I think for the price point it's a bit lightweight. Bomber jackets in this style tend to gravitate towards the cheaper snap closure buttons, and few of them have the quilted, heavier build (i.e. Starter jacket)--Homefield hasn't made an exception to this. It looks great and fits great--but isn't quite on the higher level of notable competitors. I'm between a medium-large and rarely XL in outerwear, but the size L fits very well. As Homefield looks to establish themselves as a brand built on legacy, nostalgia, and prestige collegiate heritage, this is certainly a step in the right direction. This is a fantastic concept to revive almost 40 years after Rick Pitino's 1987 run with the Friars, but it lacks the respective Final Four patch that other jackets in this drop have. I highly recommend this jacket if you are looking for a lightweight, single-layer satin bomber to throw on in mild weather or over a sweatshirt. The embroidery is great, the logos look clean, and the colors do pop. On behalf of all Friars who love to support Providence, I think it's a tad bit overpriced for what it is. Aside from this, I'm very satisfied with what I received.
