We modeled our Providence Rinkside Hoodies after the Friars’ classic jerseys, featuring the skating Friar logo. The Friars men’s team won its national championship in 2015 under head coach Nate Leaman, marking their first men's team championship in any sport, and third overall. Though they tied for second in the Hockey East conference’s regular season and lost in the quarterfinal of the conference tournament, the Friars finished 26-13-2 overall that year and defeated rival Boston University for the 2015 national championship.
