Regarded as the greatest college mascot in the country, The Hawk is an instantly recognizable pillar of Saint Joseph’s athletics. While this rendition of The Hawk, used as the Saint Joe’s logo from 1982 to 1995, has its wings on its hips, the costumed mascot is known for flapping its wings throughout an entire basketball game (yes, even halftime). Personifying Saint Joe’s motto, “The Hawk Will Never Die,” is physically demanding, but worthwhile, with those who played the role of The Hawk joining what’s known as “the featherhood.”
