Inspired by the bison on Indiana's state seal, IU’s student senate chose a bison to be the Hoosier mascot in October 1965. A live bison was a bit cost-prohibitive, so they opted for a costume instead. Unfortunately, the bison costume was uncomfortable, difficult to see through, and cheerleaders had to lead the mascot around with a rope. Unlike that ill-fated bison costume, this snapback hat nods to the Hoosiers’ former mascot without being so cumbersome.

Great! But…

The outer design and materials are great! Unfortunately the underside is astroturf fluorescent green, which I certainly didn’t expect and isn’t noticeable in the product images. It clashes pretty hard and I would’ve ordered differently if I knew that.
