But I’ll tell you…you need violinists to play in Carnegie Hall. We don’t have any violinists.” As the team piled up wins, the “Fiddlin’ Five” became a term of endearment among the Kentucky faithful. After they won the national title, Rupp acknowledged, “Those boys certainly are not concert violinists, but they sure can fiddle.”
