The “Golden Buffaloes” is one of many sub-nicknames that popped up after CU’s nickname officially became the Buffaloes. It’s well-known to this day, and even Colorado’s band is known as the Golden Buffalo Marching Band. We paired the enduring nickname with this vintage buffalo illustration we found on an old pennant.
