Perhaps the most famous chant in all of college sports, “Rock Chalk Jayhawk” has been in use in its current form at the University of Kansas for over 130 years. Chemistry professor E.H.S. Bailey started the chant for his KU Science Club back in 1886. After minor updates to the wording and cadence, the entire school adopted the yell a year later. You can still hear it ring out in unison at Allen Fieldhouse after the students sway and sing the alma mater. Brought to you in partnership with College Vault.
