Ohio State's famous helmet stickers originated in 1968. As the story goes, trainer Ernie Biggs thought of the idea for buckeye leaf stickers as a motivational tool. They've since been a staple of Ohio State football, highlighting player achievements throughout the season. The idea is often replicated, but it's still a Buckeye original.
