1980 ushered in a new era for the Old Gold and Blue as West Virginia welcomed Coach Don Nehlen to the program, broke in a new Mountaineer Field, and introduced the “flying” WV logo to its helmets. Designed to resemble the mountains of West Virginia by renowned artist (and brother of the WVU athletic director) John Boyd Martin, a timeless mark created for the football helmets would later become the official logo for the entire university. Products are mocked up on a size S. Graphics may appear smaller on larger sizes.
