The 1989 team is considered one of Texas A&M’s best ever, and many attribute that success (including a 26-game win streak, the SWC’s regular season and tournament titles, and Mark Johnson’s Conference Coach of the Year award) to a good-luck feeling that stretches from the entrance gates to the diamond.
