This UC Santa Cruz design is our nod to Pulp Fiction fans, but the “Fiat Slug” logo was a campus favorite long before the film. UCSC students observed the slow-moving, distinct creatures in the Redwoods, and thought the banana slug would be an ironic symbol for the school. Then-student Marc Ratner designed the “Fiat Slug” logo in the 1980s, mimicking a traditional university seal, as students campaigned in earnest for the banana slug to replace the stuffier sea lion mascot. UCSC administrators adopted the change in 1986 – let there be slug, indeed.

UC Banana Slugs

Received this shirt for my husband through a mystery box. All of his Homefield shirts are mediums, including the others from the mystery boxes, but this one is so big he cannot wear it. It’s a great design but be careful with sizing.

Finally. Finally The Good Brand got the Banana Slugs, and they didn’t disappoint with this perfect recreation of Vincent Vega’s finest (and dorkiest) fit. A must have for any fan of Homefield and Pulp Fiction.
